The second film (1991) sets Kid, now living with Play after his father died (as Harris had died not long after finishing the first movie) off to college thanks to some charity of his local church. This is much to the chagrin of his friend who wants Kid to go into music with him after they got the attention of a record producer. Misfortune however befalls Kid no sooner then he starts his semester after he gets conned out of his tuition money. One thing leads to another before the duo wind up hosting a party on the campus to help Kid stay in college. House Party is a series of hip-hop comedy films that began as starring vehicles for the rap duo Kid 'N Play (Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin).

To describe "House Party" in those terms would be unfair and would miss the whole point of the movie's energy and exuberance. It was refreshing for a change to see a story about young blacks that didn't revolve around social problems, thriller elements, drugs or any particular form of seriousness. "House Party" is silly and high-spirited and not particularly significant, and that is just as it should be.

Still determined to go, Kid sneaks out of the house and faces one calamity after another as he makes his way to Play's house and the party of the school year. House Party (2023) is a contemporary reboot of the 1990 film, sharing the same name. The movie centers around two ambitious club promoters who find themselves cleaning LeBron James' mansion. Inspired by their surroundings, they decide to throw an epic party at their workplace. Seeing that the movies’ chronological order of events is the same as their release dates, the best way to watch the ‘House Party’ movie series is in release order. You’ll get to see the main characters grow and develop from teenagers to successful – even married – adults.
What are the House Party movies?

It has a similar plot – two guys throwing a massive party as we watch how things get complicated and crazy along the way – but other than a few nods to the original films; there’s not much of a connection to the rest of the franchise. He manages to get out of another scrape with Stab and his brothers, and they all end up in a jail cell. Kid entertains the rest of the men in the cell by rapping, distracting them long enough for Play, Sharane, Bilal, and Sydney to arrive and bail him out. After Play and Bilal drop him off, Kid sneaks in the house and gets undressed. As he is about to get into bed, he looks up to find Pop holding a belt as he prepares to spank him.

The incredibly popular, visually impressive musical short would also earn Calmatic an MTV Video Music Award for Best Direction and a Grammy for Best Music Video. Perhaps his cinematic eye is just what the House Party remake needs to look especially fresh. A fun little note, that is the same exact runtime as the original. Based on the synopsis, we'd say the reboot sounds quite different from the original. This shouldn't be too shocking when you learn that Emmy-nominated Atlanta writers Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori have been tasked with writing a brand new script for the movie.

Producer Hit-Boy has made music with the likes of Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Drake, so it’s no wonder that Kevin, an aspiring music producer, is nervous to play his music in front of him at the party. While Hit-Boy, who appears as himself, is not initially impressed with Kevin’s beats, he later works with Kevin and Big Sean. Singer Tinashe has one of the most memorable cameos in the film. Playing herself, she instigates an epic dance-off in the middle of the party, which results in her recruiting Kevin’s love interest, Venus (played by Karen Obilom) to be a dancer for her upcoming tour. While this remix of "House Party" may leave some nostalgic for the original, it smartly doesn't try to copy the first film.
So far, there are six House Party movies, with one extra film that doesn’t really belong to the series but features the same duo. Without further ado, here are all seven House Party movies in order. And now these schools only have a week or two left of classes. But we don’t know when these standoffs are going to end. We don’t know if students are going to leave campus for the summer. In Los Angeles, Kevin and Damon are two best friends who work as house cleaners and aspiring club promoters; Kevin also aspires to make music and get a steady income to support himself and his young daughter Destiny.
The Remake Is, Technically, The Sixth House Party Movie
The third movie (1994) see Kid getting married to his girlfriend Veda (who was introduced in this movie rather than his past girlfriend Sidney (Tisha Campbell). Play meanwhile has gone into the music business as a manager to a female rap trio, Sex as a Weapon (TLC). Of course though things get complicated before everything winds down to a bachelor party thrown for Kid. This film was notable for debuting Chris Tucker and featuring the rap group Immature (later known as IMx) who play Kid's nephews.
He finally gets to shoot his shot after he invites her to his house party (with a little help from LeBron James’ address book), where she appears, as herself. Walter Emanuel Jones rose to prominence playing Zach Taylor, the original Black Power Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a role that he cheekily references during his scene in House Party. During his appearance in the film, Jones, who plays himself, pokes fun at the role as partygoers recognize him. While first announced as a LeBron James and Springhill project in 2018, according to Okayplayer, it took more than four years for the next generation "House Party" movie to be fully produced and released to the public. By 2022, with the movie fully filmed and completed, Warner Bros. planned to skip a theatrical release and make the film an exclusive offering on its HBO Max streaming platform.
But also, as the winter wears on, all the same intense protests just continue unabated. This is a university that has both one of the largest Jewish student populations of any of its peers. But it also has a large Arab and Muslim student population, a big Middle Eastern studies program. They were asked very pointed questions about the kind of speech taking place on their campuses, and they gave really convoluted academic answers back that just baffled the committee.
But there are also communities that rely on people being able to trust each other and being able to carry out their classes and their academic endeavors as a collective so they can learn from one another. Students who feel strongly about the Palestinian cause feel like the point is disruption, that something so big, and immediate, and urgent is happening that they need to get in the faces of their professors, and their administrators, and their fellow students. And for those students who maybe couldn’t go back to — into campus, now all of their peers, who were supporters or are in solidarity, are — in some sense, it’s further emboldened.
One of the key elements of any great house party is its guest list, which might explain why there’s no shortage of big name cameos in the new movie, House Party. The film, which releases in theaters on Friday, is a reimagining of the cult classic 1990 film of the same name, which starred rap duo Kid ‘n Play as high schoolers throwing a party while their parents are gone. In 2022, a modernized sixth film was produced by LeBron James’ production company Spring Hill Entertainment. This time around, house cleaners and aspiring club promoters Damon and Kevin decide to host a giant blowout at Lebron's mansion while he's away in an attempt to make some big money after being fired from their job. Several big-name entertainers and sportspeople, including James himself, appear in the movie in various capacities alongside previous franchise stars Kid 'N Play reprising their roles in a non-speaking cameo. The film was set to debut on HBO Max in August 2022, but was instead transferred to a theatrical release by Warner Bros.
